This is the Season when Venice casts her spell!

Venice Design Week – 11-19 October

The Venice Marathon – 26 October

The Venice Architecture – ending 23 November

All Saints’ Day / All Souls’ Day – 1st/2nd November – An ancient tradition, which in bygone days saw Venetians cross a temporary pontoon bridge set up between the Fondamente Nove and the cypress-clad cemetery of San Michele to honour their deceased friends and family members. Today, church services are attended, extra boat services are laid on for those wishing to visit the island’s graves (among them those of writers Joseph Brodsky, Ezra Pound, dancer Sergei Diaghilev and composer Igor Stravinsky) and little bean-shaped biscuits known as ‘fave’ are traditionally sold at the city’s bakeries.

Festa Della Salute – 21 November – One of the most moving and best-loved events in the city’s calendar when Venetians make an annual pilgrimage across a pontoon bridge over the Grand Canal to the plague church of Santa Maria della Salute to pray to the Virgin Mary and to light candles, while gondoliers bring their oars to be blessed and the surrounding streets come alive with stalls selling candles, balloons, and all manner of sweet temptations! Also close to our opulent Dimora Orlando and La Casa di Hubert Givenchy

Looking forward to seeing you in Venice this autumn and beyond.
